Adding New Cross-Reference that Points to the Defined Terms
Description:
This proposed change adds a new Article to NECB Part 10 to cross-reference the defined terms in Article 1.4.1.2. of Division A, thus aligning Part 10 with the other Parts of the Code.
Problem
Currently, Part10 of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) does not cross-reference the defined terms in Article1.4.1.2. of DivisionA, which may lead to confusion for Code users.
Without such a cross-reference, Part10 is not harmonized with Parts3 to 8 and 11, which do include such a cross-reference.
Justification
The addition of Article10.1.1.3., and its cross-reference to Article1.4.1.2. of Division A, would guide Code users to the correct location for defined terms. This proposed change would also align Part10 with the other Parts of the NECB.

Enforcement implications
This proposed change could be enforced by the infrastructure currently available to enforce the Code.
Who is affected
Designers, engineers, architects, builders, building officials, and consultants.
