The Canadian Board for Harmonized Construction Codes (CBHCC) is accepting applications from individuals to serve on code development committees.<\/p>\n
The CBHCC aims to achieve fairness and equity in its representation, and to eliminate barriers to designated groups from opportunities. You may choose to indicate in your submission if you are part of a designated group.<\/p>\n
The CBHCC seeks individuals who are committed to supporting a harmonized code development system across Canada and who have expertise, interest, or experience in the areas addressed in the Codes, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\nThe CBHCC will strike the necessary development committees to work on the following strategic priorities for the 2030 code cycle:<\/p>\n
\nNational Model Code Committees are established based on the CBHCC\u2019s approved code cycle work plan drawing from the applications received. Anyone interested in volunteering can apply until May 6, 2024. Submissions received after May 6, 2024 may still be considered for filling vacancies or membership on task groups.<\/p>\n
Individuals interested in participating in important national codes development work as a code development committee member are invited to submit their expression of interest using the electronic form below.<\/p>\n
The National Model Code Committees and their associated task groups and working groups conduct their business in English.<\/p>\n
In order to be considered, all applicants are required to provide consent for the use of their personal information. Your consent is mandatory for your application to be submitted.<\/strong><\/p>\n The information provided in this form is required for the purpose of selecting members for the National Model Code Committees (NMCC), as well as task groups and working groups who will develop proposed changes to the 2025 editions of the National Model Codes for the duration of the 2025-2030 code development cycle. The collected information is protected by the provisions of the Privacy Act in institutions that are covered by the Privacy Act. The information collected by the National Research Council of Canada’s Codes Canada personnel may be disclosed to up to fourteen (14) representatives of the Canadian provinces and territories who will be responsible for the establishment of the NMCCs membership for the 2025-2030 code development cycle. The information collected may also be disclosed to up to thirteen (13) individuals nominated by the selection committee for chair roles in the NMCCs, as well as others who may need to see the personal information to support membership considerations. Your personal information will be managed and protected under the Privacy Act, conforming to the standards for personal information bank PSU 919 \u2013 Members of Boards, Committees and Councils. Please be aware that you may request access to your personal information and request to have it updated or amended under the Privacy Act by contacting the ATIP Office at NRC: ATIP.AIPRP@nrc-cnrc.gc.ca.
