{"id":3863,"date":"2023-08-19T11:30:28","date_gmt":"2023-08-19T15:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbhcc-cchcc.ca\/?page_id=3863"},"modified":"2023-08-19T16:16:40","modified_gmt":"2023-08-19T20:16:40","slug":"archived-public-review-on-proposed-changes-to-codes-canada-publications-fall-2017-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cbhcc-cchcc.ca\/en\/archived-public-review-on-proposed-changes-to-codes-canada-publications-fall-2017-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Archived &#8211; Public review on proposed changes to Codes Canada publications &#8211; Fall 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"alert alert-closing\"><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-warning\"><\/span><h2 class=\"info\"> Important<\/h2><p>This public review is now closed.<br \/>Go to the <a href=\"\/en\/get-involved\/#s5\" class=\"alert-link\"><strong>public reviews home page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p><\/section>\n<p>The Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) invited Code users and stakeholders to participate in the fall 2017 public review of proposed changes to Codes Canada publications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>National Building Code of Canada 2015 (NBC)<\/li>\n<li>National Fire Code of Canada 2015 (NFC)<\/li>\n<li>National Plumbing Code of Canada 2015 (NPC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With an interim change planned for publication in late 2017, no changes were proposed for the National Energy Code for Buildings this public review.<\/p>\n<p>This public review took place from <strong>November 6, 2017 to January 2, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this public review was to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provide Code users and stakeholders with a detailed look at proposed technical changes and<\/li>\n<li>seek comment on each <strong>proposed technical change<\/strong> as to whether it should be approved, altered, or rejected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The public review closed at 4:00 p.m. <abbr title=\"Eastern Standard Time\">EST<\/abbr> on January 2nd, 2018, after which comments will no longer be accepted. The relevant committees of the <abbr title=\"Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes\">CCBFC<\/abbr> will review every comment that was received up to that date. The committees will then either withdraw the proposed change; recommend that it be reviewed further for possible re-submission in revised form in a future public review; or recommend that it be approved by the <abbr title=\"Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes\">CCBFC<\/abbr>, with or without modification. If approved by the <abbr title=\"Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes\">CCBFC<\/abbr>, the technical changes will be published in the 2020 editions of Codes Canada publications.<\/p>\n<style
